With its winding route, school line 55 brings pupils from Kateřinky, Radčice, Krásná Studánka and Pavlovice to the primary schools on náměstí Míru, Vrchlického and Sokolovská and to the Podještědí Grammar School. The standard fare applies on the line, so anyone can use it. Only a single morning service runs towards the centre.

School line 55 was introduced at the start of the 2003/2004 school year and replaces the line 13 service that called at ZŠ Vrchlického (the service diverted from the regular route between the Pavlovice křižovatka and Dopravní hřiště stops). Initially it does not serve Krásná Studánka or the square in Ruprechtice. The extent of operation has remained at one morning service throughout.

Line 55 is just a single morning service on weekdays. Drivers therefore rarely get to drive it unless they have it in their roster, but when they do, it is worth it. It runs a full 45 minutes, though with delays in the morning jams it can stretch to as much as an hour. Especially at the start it passes the demanding spots in Kateřinky and Radčice, which I discuss in more detail under lines 13, 24 and 28. And needless to say, the service gradually fills up considerably with restless schoolchildren, so caution and patience are definitely in order.
