Liberec Routes

School line 57 serves primarily the journeys of Technical University of Liberec students between its buildings and the dormitories. However, the standard fare applies on the line, so it also serves as a reinforcement of line 15, whose route it follows in full.

School line number 57 first appeared on 3 January 2005. Its purpose was clear — to help handle the morning transport of TUL students from the dormitories to its buildings. The line, however, started on a different route from the one it runs today, namely Doubí sídliště - Vesec U Střediska - Fügnerova - Březová Alej. Between the Vesec U Střediska and Fügnerova stops the line did not stop; beyond that it stopped normally. Originally only one pair of morning services ran, with the service from Březová Alej ending at Fügnerova. The service from Doubí sídliště was tasked with serving the smaller dormitory building in Vesec by the U Střediska stop.

• 2007: the Březová Alej terminus was rerouted to the Přehrada terminus (later named Stodolní and today Univerzitní koleje).

• 2011: the first increase of operation; from one morning pair of services there are two morning ones and one late-morning one. Later one afternoon service is added too, running Monday to Thursday.

• 16 September 2019: the service from Doubí was abolished, shortening the line to the Fügnerova - Univerzitní koleje section. The number of services jumps up (from the original 4).

Timetable from 2021

• 19 September 2022: the line was extended all the way to Harcov, to the church, and the volume of operation was further increased.
• 16 July 2023: in the direction from the centre the line newly calls at the Šaldovo náměstí stop on the tracks, where all the other lines stop too. The stop on Jablonecká street is abolished.
• 1 March 2024: a new Klášterní stop in the direction towards the centre.

About line 57 it can only be said that, since the service from Doubí was abolished, it is in no way different from line 15 services. As with line 15, the service can occasionally get overcrowded, but it can also run practically empty.
